Hello
and welcome to Rails Around The Bay, my name is Frank Caron and
I'm a native San Franciscan born in 1971. I work as a locomotive
engineer for Amtrak, and currently operate on the Caltrain commuter
district that runs between San Francisco & Gilroy, CA. This
web site is the result of my desire to share information with
others, for me that means showing off my photographic skills.

I started this web site in 1998, the main intent as you can tell
is railroads operating in and around the greater San Francisco
Bay Area. This includes the history of the varied operations
in the area, along with maps, drawings and diagrams historical
in nature. Within this site you will also find information about
my model railroad endeavors, the work of others and special articles
on how-to items of interest.
Some of my other interests are motorcycles, I own two of them
a custom made by American Iron Horse, it represents the chopper
look with a fat rear tire, loud pipes and a raked front end.
The other bike is more down to earth and not as flashy, it's
a Harley-Davidson Road King Classic, a touring type bike. I enjoy
riding quite a bit, I try to ride as much as possible, whether
it be a short ride to work or a all day adventure.
I've
tried to make this introduction short and to the point, I always
suffer from writers block when I try to sit here and think of
varied items to share about myself. I guess you will have to
wait for the TV Movie to find out more about my life, for now
just head on to the main index page of the site and start navigating
your way through.
Frank
