San Bruno Branch
Within this page we will take you on a walking tour of what remained of the original mainline alignment to San Francisco, known as the San Bruno Branch. The milepost location at South San Francisco is 0.0, with the end of track at Colma 3.3 miles away. The speed of the line was 10MPH for obvious reasons, as the track condition was very poor in many places. The documentation of this line was done on three separate occasions, little of this line remains today as BARTs' project to the San Francisco International Airport has made this area unrecognizable. To view the images, take this link, a new page will appear and from here you can view larger images by clicking on the thumbnail images.
